Meet The Team
Billy LaPointe was a General Manager at Shoppers Food Warehouse during the time of Brock's inception. He joined the team in October 2001 as a bartender and through the years his responsibilities grew into a management role and eventually into a partnership with Jason Smith.
Jason Smith worked previously at The Landing Restaurant on Smith Mountain Lake while taking a hiatus from Mary Washington College. Upon his return to Fredericksburg in August of 1999 he met Todd and Leo and has been working at Brock's ever since. When he graduated in 2002 he accepted a management position within the company which eventually grew into a partnership with Billy LaPointe.
Before arriving at Brock's, Wade worked as a bartender and server at Tazza Kitchen in Richmond, VA. After moving to the distribution side of the restaurant business, Wade had worked for Brown Distributing, Adventure Brewing and Coyote Hole Ciderworks. As time in the beer distribution business, Wade had developed a palate for wine and began working for Total Wine in Central Park as a wine associate. Wade is now happy taking care of his friends and neighbors at Brock's Riverside Grill by providing food and beverages in a picturesque setting.
Lauren has previously worked for Levy Restaurants as a catering coordinator for events and box seats at the Ross Ade Stadium at Purdue University. Lauren has attended UVA in Charlottesville Virginia and left to work at Brock's Riverside Grill. To gain more experience within the restaurant industry, Lauren had worked at another restaurant and bar in Downtown Fredericksburg for a year before coming back to work for Brock's in April 2022.
Todd Crompton & Leo Lapointe
Our restaurant, Brock’s Riverside Grill, was founded in September, 1999 by Leo LaPointe and Todd Crompton. Leo worked in various restaurants in Northern Virginia and D.C. such as Ruth’s Chris, Blackie’s D.C., Samantha’s and Sweet Water Tavern. A graduate of James Madison University, Todd also has extensive experience in a variety of restaurants in Northern Virginia and D.C. such as, Sign of the Wale, Blackie’s D.C., The Harbor Inn, Main St. USA and Sweet Water Tavern.
